A PTZ camera pans, tilts, and zooms. These functions can be done manually or automatically by the use of a keyboard controller or a DVR (digital video recorder). These functions can also be done remotely if you have a high speed Internet connection and you have the proper software/hardware on your Windows pc or you are using an embedded DVR.

An IP(Internet Protocol) camera will connect directly to your router or modem by means of the ethernet cable. Either DSL or high speed broadband is required to operate and IP based camera.
